Secret Santa

Dear Parents,

I can hardly believe that we only have 3 full weeks left of school until the Christmas holidays.
The children have recently expressed a like to celebrate the end of term by exchanging small gifts.
As part of our upcoming art project I have asked the children to each bring a small box into school. We plan to decorate these and put a small gift inside which costs  no more than 100 baht.
On the last day of term, each child who has donated a present will exchange theirs with another.
A bit like a Secret Santa so nobody will know who the present is from until they open it on Christmas day!

If you would like your child to take part, please send in an old box (shoe box, mobile phone box etc...) and a gift worth no more than 100 baht (packet of sweets, stationary...).

The deadline for this is Monday 2nd of December although the sooner these can be handed in, the better.

Thank you,

Loy Krathong

Today, we've had great fun celebrating Loy Krathong. The children all made a fantastic effort to come to school wearing traditional Thai costume and they all looked magnificent.

Our day began with our usual flag ceremony which today was a sea of bright colours and the pupils stood proudly to sing the anthem. After this, the school gathered in the basketball court to watch traditional dancing from each year group. Then, we assembled at the swimming pool to float an extra special Krathong representing all of us. Our afternoon was spent participating in Thai craft activities which the children loved. There was cooking, singing, films, Thai craft making and all sorts of traditional games.

Beautiful costumes for Loy Krathong...

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the events, we have had a wonderful day.

Telling the Time

This week, children in 3C have been learning to read clocks on the hour, half hour, quarter to and quarter past. Some children are even reading time in one minute intervals which is super!

First, we looked at the different parts of a clock and we played games which helped us to remember how to convert units of time from 60 seconds into 1 minute, 60minutes = 1 hour, 24hours = 1 day.

Next week, we will begin to compare analogue time and digital time. We will also look at the duration of events as well as the number of days in a month and the order of months in a year.
