The Blitz!
During our art lesson this week, we focused on scenes from ‘The Blitz’. These were air raids on London which began in September 1940. Lots of other places were bombed, including industrial
cities and ports such as Birmingham, Coventry, Southampton, Sheffield,
Manchester, Liverpool, Hull and Glasgow. There were also air raids on seaside towns,
such as Eastbourne, and on cathedral cities such as Canterbury.
Our artwork is displayed outside of the classroom, please feel free to come in and see it for yourselves.
WW2 Assembly
The children of 3C have all worked so hard this week and I feel incredibly proud of them. With plenty of hard work and determination, they produced a fantastic assembly which all of primary enjoyed very much. Thank you very much for those parents who helped their children to practice their lines as well as provide outfits.
Well done boys and girls, you were amazing!

Breaking News!
Jing Jang has lost one of his wobbly teeth! Let's hope the tooth fairy finds us all the way out here :)
Kanchanaburi Day 2
I am pleased to say that all of the children fell straight to sleep last night and slept until morning. They were exhausted after such an exciting day!
This morning we woke up and did room checks. All rooms were given a score out of 10. The lowest score was 8, this shows you just how mature and independent the children are being.
At 7.15, we all enjoyed a scrumptious buffet breakfast in the restaurant before heading to the Hellfire Pass and memorial museum. Inside the museum, we studied many paintings, photographs and artifacts, we also watched a short film which explained the history of the pass in a little more detail. After this, we walked through the Hellfire Pass itself!
Finally, we began our journey back to the hotel. We boarded a train at Thakilen Station and after one hour, arrived at Namtok Station. The views over the river and through the mountains were stunning!
We are now back at the hotel and have finished eating dinner at the Jungle View restaurant. Then, we will have learning in the conference room and soon after, it will be time for bed.

Kanchanaburi Day 1
After a long journey, we arrived safely in Kanchanburi this morning at 11.30am.
Our first stop was the World War 2 memorial and cemetry. It was saddening to see so many graves, especially those of such young soldiers. The children were very respectful.
Next, we headed for the bridge over the river Kwai. Our guide was very impressed with the children's historical knowledge.
Then, it was time to settle into the hotel and have lunch as well as play some team building games at the ninja camp.
After our team building, we got back on the bus to visit a historical park full of lots of very old sculptures and ruins.
We then returned to the hotel for what the children had been looking forward to all day, swimming!
After fun in the pool, we dried off and got into some warm clothes for the campfire. We played all sorts of exciting games and ate some delicious barbecued food.
Finally, after a wonderful day, the children are now tucked up in bed (hopefully sleeping!).
