The children were super role models as they read to the children in Miss Myshi's class. A good time was had by one and all.

Review & preview
English

This week we have begun looking at stories from different cultures around the world. We did some great research on our visit to the Bat Cat Museum for our subsequent comic strip story, that we will be writing to share with the children of Camillian House, next month.

Next week we will continue to read and analyse stories from around the world and begin to write and edit our own stories.

Maths
|
This week finished off our equivalent fractions work and continued to use mental methods for multiplying by 10 and 100. We began to use written methods for multiplying 3 or 4 digit numbers by single digits.

Next week we will continue to develop the use of written methods of multiplication and division.

Art
|
Last week we listened to different types of music and thought about how it makes us think or feel. We recorded what those thoughts and feelings in our sketch books
| This week we will begin to represent how sounds and music can be represented by shapes and colours in our painting. |
PSHE
| This week we thought about how we enjoy ourselves, keep safe and get the most out of our museum trip. |

Bat Cat Museum
The children were a real credit to themselves and our school, with the way they applied themselves on our trip today. They were all actively engaged researching and recording characters that will be their spring board for creating their own comic strip story.

Kandinsky and Synesthesia
Linking to our Sound work in science, Kandinsky used Wagner's music to inspire his art and represented the sounds as shapes, colours, lines and repeated patterns. We listened to the music below, discussed and recorded what shapes, colours, patterns or emotions it made us think of.
