Review and preview

English
In between assessments, we produced our final copy of our stories that we will share with the children of Camillian House.
Next week we will draft and write our comic strips to share with the children of Camillian House.
Maths
In between assessments, we have begun looking at properties of shapes and measure angles using a protractor.

This week we completed representing how sounds and music can be reproduced by using shapes and colours in our painting.
Next week we will be designing African masks.

Review and preview

English
Last week, we drafted our comic strip stories that we will share with the children of Camillian House.
This week, we produce our final copy of our stories that we will share with the children of Camillian House.
Maths
Last week we continued to develop the use of written methods of multiplication and work with equivalent fractions.
This week we have begun looking at properties of shapes and measure angles using a protractor.

The Science of Sound

Today we experimented with how sound travels through different media. 


Synesthesia

Kandinsky used to listen to Wagner and represented the sounds of the music in colours and shapes. We listened to  Wagner's "Ride of the Valkyries" and have started to 'put the music into our paintings.'

Review and preview

English
This week we continued to read and analyse stories from around the world and  wrote and edited our own stories that we will share with Early Years pupils next week.
Next week, after sharing our stories with Early Years, we will begin to plan out and draft our comic strip stories that we will share with the children of Camillian House.
Maths
This week we continued to develop the use of written methods of multiplication and carried out a division investigation.
Next week we will continue with written methods of division and begin looking at properties of shapes and measure angles using a protractor.


Art
Last week we listened to different types of music and thought about how it makes us think or feel. We recorded what those thoughts and feelings in our sketch books
