Review and preview

English
Last week we continued to rehearse learn the parts and songs for our Key Stage 2 production , developing our acting and public speaking skills.

Maths
Last week we will continued our work on using mental skills for multiplication and include division.

Last week we began our independent research on comparing and contrasting different native American tribes to present to the class at the end of this term.

Review and preview

English
This week we looked at how sound can be used to stimulate creative writing. We also began to learn the parts and songs for our KS2 production, developing our acting skills. 
Next week we continue to rehearse learn the parts and songs for our Key Stage 2 production , developing our acting and public speaking skills. 
Maths
This week we will developed our understanding of prime numbers, factors, square numbers and square roots. We also used mental skills to multiply.
Next week we will continue our work on using mental skills for multiplication and include division.
We will then use our knowledge to solve word problems.
Art
This week we used coloured pencils to draw hair as realistically as we could.
We will be doing representations of animals in a  native American style.
PSHE
We discussed what  things we worry about and how we our bodies react when we worry.
We shall discuss how worry is a natural response of our bodies in preparing us to deal with situations.
Humanities
This week pairs of children learnt about one type of native American dwelling and then taught their classmates about it. 
Next week we begin begin our independent research on comparing and contrasting different native American tribes to present to the class at the end of this term. 
Science
This week began thinking about gases around us and completed an online experiment, classifying activity and quiz.
Next week we will be thinking about the different properties of solids, liquids and gases.

Review & preview

English
This week we began to look at how  the theme of singing was developed in the novel.
Next week we will be looking at how several themes are developed and using quotes to support our points of view.
Maths
This week we solved addition and subtraction problems with numbers up to 2 decimal places. At the end of the week we moved onto tests of divisibility.
Next week we will develop our understanding of prime numbers, factors and square roots.

Art
This week we continued looking closely, using coloured pencils and shading to improve our drawing of Jupiter.
We will be doing Aboriginal dot painting as part of International week.
PSHE
We discussed what three things we can do and how we can do them to ensure we are kind towards others.
We shall continue our efforts to ensure we are as kind as  we can be.
Humanities
This week we have designed an advertisement focusing on colour, wording and placement of picture and wording to make it effective.
Next week we will review our advertisements against the success criteria and discuss how to improve them.
Science
This week began thinking about how we can present  information in a balanced way but favours one point of view.
We will develop our discussion that favours one point of view.

Review and preview

English
Last week we be looked at how the author gives hints about what might happen later in the story, and used quotes to support this point of view. We begun to consider the emotional journey of the main character through the novel.
